What is this medicine?TOBRAMYCIN (toe bra MYE sin) is an aminoglycoside antibiotic. It is used to treat or prevent certain kinds of bacterial infections in the lungs. It will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.
What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?They need to know if you have any of these conditions:
How should I use this medicine?This medicine is for inhalation. You breathe this medicine in through your mouth and into your lungs. You will be taught how to take this medicine. Follow the directions on your prescription label. Take your medicine at regular intervals. Do not take it more often than directed. Do not stop taking except on your doctor's advice. Take all of your medicine as directed even if you think you are better. Do not skip doses or stop your medicine early.
You will get an information sheet with each prescription and refill. Read this sheet carefully each time. This sheet may change.
Talk to your pediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children. While this drug may be prescribed for children as young as 6 years old for selected conditions, precautions do apply.
Overdosage: If you think you've taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.

Store between 20 and 25 degrees C (68 and 77 degrees F). Keep this medicine in the original container. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.
