Complications could include:

  • Follicular cysts, also called ovarian or functional cysts, appear on or in the ovary. Filled with fluid, follicular cysts are common in women of reproductive age.
  • Epidermoid cysts, also called sebaceous, keratin, or epithelial cysts, are small, hard lumps that develop under the skin.
  • A ganglion is a mass of biological tissue. A ganglion cyst is a round, fluid-filled lump.
  • A cyst is a sac-like pocket of tissue that contains fluid, air, or other substances. They can grow almost anywhere in the body or on skin.
  • Cyanosis is condition in which a person develops a bluish tint to the skin, fingernails, and fingertips. It's caused by not having enough oxygen in your blood and can occur suddenly or over time due to chronic illness.
  • Self-esteem is the general opinion a person has about himself or herself. Having high but realistic self-esteem is essential to good mental health.
