  • Polymerase Chain Reaction
  • Skin scraping for examination
  • Indirect Immunofluorescence Assay
  • The varicella vaccine protects against chickenpox. There is still a slight chance of developing the chickenpox, even after being vaccinated.
  • The herpes viral culture of lesion test, or the herpes simplex virus culture, is a test used to determine if a skin sore contains the herpes simplex virus.
