Medicare Advantage plans

Medicare Advantage plans (also known as Medicare Part C) combine coverage for hospital and medical services in a single plan. They are provided by a Medicare-approved private insurance company. Many Medicare Advantage plans do not have additional premiums beyond Medicare Parts A and B, and some also include prescription drug coverage at no additional cost (beyond what you pay for your Medicare Part B premium, unless it is otherwise paid for under Medicaid or by another third party). Depending on the plan, you may be required to use doctors and hospitals within a network.

Medicare Supplement Insurance plans*

Medicare Supplement Insurance plans are sold by private insurance companies to fill holes in Medicare Parts A and B plan coverage. Benefits for Medicare Supplement Insurance plans can vary widely, depending on the policy you select.

Medicare Prescription drug plans

Medicare prescription drug plans (also known as Medicare Part D) provide protection for people who have very high drug costs or from unexpected prescription drug bills in the future. Everyone with Medicare is eligible for this optional coverage to help lower their prescription drug costs. Every Medicare Part D plan covers a different set of drugs, so you need to make sure the plan you choose covers the prescription drugs you take.

Special Needs Plans

Special Needs Plans are a special type of Medicare Advantage plan (Part C) that provide more focused and specialized health care for specific groups of people, such as those who have both Medicare and Medicaid, who reside in a nursing home or have certain chronic medical conditions.
