What is this medicine?MINOCYCLINE (mi noe SYE kleen) is a tetracycline antibiotic. It stops the growth of some bacteria. It is used to treat deep skin pockets at the tooth-gum line.

How should I use this medicine?This medicine is placed in the gum pocket. It is given by a health care professional in an office or clinic setting. Follow your health care professionals advice for the care of your mouth after the application of this medicine. Do not touch or brush the treated area for 12 hours. Do not eat hard, crunchy, or sticky foods for 1 week after treatment. Do not use interproximal cleaning devices in the treated area for 10 days.
Talk to your pediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed.
What if I miss a dose?This does not apply.

What should I watch for while using this medicine?Tell your doctor or health care professional if your symptoms do not start to get better or if they get worse.
Do not treat diarrhea with over the counter products. Contact your doctor if you have diarrhea that lasts more than 2 days or if it is severe and watery.
