Complications could include:

  • Congestive heart failure is a chronic condition that affects the four chambers of the heart. Early symptoms include fatigue and weight gain. Irregular heart beat and wheezing indicate a worsening.

  • Enlarged spleen (splenomegaly) affects the spleen, which found on the left side of the body, below the rib cage. Infections, like mononucleosis, are among the most common causes of splenomegaly.

  • An arrhythmia occurs when electrical impulses, which direct and regulate heartbeats, don't function properly. Heart arrhythmias are common and usually harmless.
