Menorrhagia is a condition that affects menstruating women and causes excessively heavy and prolonged bleeding during the menstrual cycle.
The duration and severity of menstrual bleeding varies from woman to woman. It's known as menorrhagia if a woman's menstrual period is excessively heavy, prolonged, or irregular.
Menstruation is a monthly occurrence for women in which the body sheds the uterine lining, which is later passed through the vagina. Pain, cramping, and discomfort during menstruation is normal. Excessive pain is not.
