Symptoms could include:

  • Bowel incontinence is a loss of bowel control that results in involuntary fecal elimination. Injury to the pelvic muscles, lower end of the intestine, muscles in the anus, or the nervous system can cause this.
  • Bowel movements normally occur at approximately the same time each day. The feces (stool) itself should be soft enough that it can be passed without straining.
