End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) tests
End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)

Tests could include:

  • A blood urea nitrogen (BUN) test checks kidney function by measuring how much urea nitrogen is in your blood.
  • Your doctor may order a glomerular filtration rate (GFR) test if they suspect your kidneys aren't working properly. This is a simple blood test.
  • The urine urea nitrogen test measures the amount of urea in your urine. The test can measure how much protein you're eating and how the kidneys are functioning.
  • The test helps your doctor identify the type of kidney disease you have, how severe it is, and the best treatment for it.
