A sigmoidoscopy is a procedure that's done to examine the inside of your colon. It can help your doctor diagnose ulcers and cancer.
During a colonoscopy, a camera is used to check for abnormalities or disease in your lower intestine or colon. Abnormal tissue can also be removed.
