Causes could include:

  • Tuberculosis (TB) is a highly infectious disease that primarily affects the lungs. A severe and long-lasting cough, fever, and night sweats could indicate an active TB infection.
  • Behcet's disease is a rare disorder that causes blood vessels to become inflamed. Also known as Behcet's syndrome, this condition has several symptoms that may not otherwise seem related.
  • An autoimmune disease develops when the immune system, which defends the body against disease, attacks healthy body cells.
